United States Center for Coach Excellence Opportunity
We are really excited to provide an opportunity for people passionate about supporting coach education and coach development to get together this year in Spokane, Washington for the North American Coach Development Summit June 8, 9 & 10th. We have a host of exciting keynotes, workshops, think tanks, and presentations to bring researchers and practitioners together from a wide range of NGBs, non-profit groups, academic programs and other leadership groups from around the world.
Because we know that not everyone is ready or able to travel yet, we are also hosting a virtual event that will begin the first day of the Summit June 8th and be open for at least a month giving people a chance to view the contents on their time (people at the live Summit will also have access). The live Summit keynotes will be live streamed and recorded for later viewing in the virtual event. No other live Summit events will be a part of the virtual program. Instead, the virtual event will have unique virtual real time programs and networking opportunities as well as recorded materials that individuals can access on their own time.
This is why we are reaching out to you. We are bringing together leadership programs and organizations that support and provide coaching education and coach development to share what they are doing. We would like to invite you to contribute a recorded program to be hosted on the virtual platform. Our goal is to bring together organizational and program updates and current great practices in coach education and coach development. The audience will be global and will be made up of both people who are familiar with and are colleagues in coaching education and coach development work as well as people who may be newer to the growing conversation about great practice in creating systems and supporting coaches to create healthy sport experiences and outcomes for athletes. Submissions should be MP4 files and can be as short as a few minutes or up to an hour. The submissions can be an informal recorded update through something like zoom, a voice over PowerPoint or video, or it can be something fancy that your organization already has to promote your leadership work in coaching education and coach development. RECOMMENDED TOPIC: Video that overviews any resources your organization has for sport coaching education or sport coaches/ any initiatives you offer/ any certifications/ overview of current best practices from your field that coach educators/coaches should know/ etc
If you haven't visited our new website, be sure to do so. Please help us spread the word about the live and virtual events. The more people in the conversation, the more we can do towards collective impact. Be sure to share the virtual event with others in your organization who work specifically with coach education/ coaches to offer them the 10% off code: 2022VirtualVideo
Let us know if you have questions or want to discuss what you might share. We look forward to connecting with all of you and continuing to amplify the work you do!

FEBRUARY 2021 JCSMS UPDATE (PDF)
The Joint Commision on Sports Medicine and Science has been working with organizational members to develop a collective consensus statement calling for progress in health, equity, and inclusion in the U.S. and worldwide. The Joint Commission itself cannot issue such statements; however, it provides a tremendous platform for individual organizations to collaborate on initiatives such as this. Accordingly, we worked with other members of the Joint Commission to develop this statement entitled: “Moving Forward: A Consensus Statement on Health, Equity, Inclusion, and Progress."
The Collective Consensus Statement was officially released on Friday, August 28, 2020, the 57th Anniversary of the March on Washington and the “I Have A Dream" speech. We dedicated this statement to the memory, life, and legacy of Congressman John Lewis and to other such courageous leaders throughout time.
